Ari Stutz
Principal , Partner
Ari is a seasoned commercial real estate entrepreneur with a 25-year background in development, finance, adaptive reuse, leasing, and construction. Over the last decade, Ari has transformed numerous historic and underutilized properties into vibrant, community-centered spaces performing the roles of both developer and general contractor. His projects, such as the Denver Central Market and York Street Yards, have become iconic developments in Denver’s urban landscape, blending creative vision with institutional-level expertise. Ari’s general contracting experience started as a risk management approach to development but after making mistakes, evolving, and learning the business he began offering construction services to his tenants and eventually to, unaffiliated third-party clients. Whether he is offering contracting services for his own projects or those of his clients, Ari brings the same attention to detail, hands on, risk managed approach that resonates with the various stakeholders. Before his work in development and construction, Ari learned developed skills in real estate finance with leading firms like GE Capital, Merrill Lynch, and Heller Financial. His unique experience in deal structuring, risk management, and value-add strategies allows him to create projects that resonate with both local communities and national tenants. Ari graduated from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business with a specialization in Real Estate and Finance. He currently lives in Denver with his wife, Susan, their two sons, Kai and Crosby, and anywhere from one to three Bernese Mountain Dogs

Mark Sheldon
PE LEED AP, Partner
Mark brings over 25 years of experience in the construction and real estate industry, leading projects ranging from $1 to $200 million across various sectors including hospitality, commercial, residential, and infrastructure. As a licensed structural engineer and LEED-accredited professional, he brings an analytical approach to building lasting and sustainable projects. His experience spans every aspect of the project lifecycle bringing perspective from design and development oversight to general contracting and property management. With a strong focus on problem-solving and project efficiency, Mark is dedicated to finding the right fit in the Scope, Schedule and Cost dynamic. Prior to Parallel Construction, Mark was the general contractor for a $175+ million high-rise development in Denver, where he managed construction operations, subcontractor procurement, scheduling and project accounting. His career has afforded the privilege of working on successful projects ranging from adaptive reuse and historic renovations to complex mixed-use developments. In addition to construction management, he has held leadership positions in design and operational organizations alike. Mark holds a BSE in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan and is a proud Denver native. He resides in Denver with his wife, Jaala and their two sons, Giffin & Till.

Josh Trainor
Senior Project Manager
Josh Trainor grew up in a family of builders and engineers in the heart of southwestern Pennsylvania, where the values of craftsmanship and precision were instilled in him from an early age. With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Josh has honed his expertise in a broad spectrum of projects—from hands-on service work to overseeing the construction of large-scale industrial facilities, as well as specialized restaurant builds and high-end tenant improvement kitchens. His journey began right after high school as an apprentice electrician, where his passion for the industry ignited. While working to secure his electrician's license, Josh also pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering at Metropolitan State University of Denver, expanding his technical knowledge and vision for the industry. Today, he holds a Colorado State Master Electrician’s License, a testament to his commitment to excellence and continuous learning. At Parallel Construction, Josh’s leadership has been instrumental in the successful completion of multiple high-value projects, with budgets ranging from $1 to $10 million. His ability to maintain a laser focus—from the early stages of pre-construction to project closeout—has earned him a reputation for meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to building lasting relationships with clients and partners. His calm under pressure and dedication to excellence have made him a cornerstone of the company's success. Outside of work, Josh’s passion for precision and performance extends into his personal life. Whether he's wrenching on cars, sharing stories about his beloved Chow Chow, Ginger, or hiking through the rugged terrain of a national park, Josh’s diverse interests keep him grounded and fueled for the challenges of his professional life.

David Cowan, III
Senior Superintendent
David has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry starting out as a project engineer and filling various roles on both domestic and internation projects as he advanced through the ranks to Senior Superintendent. David’s project resume spans from corporate restaurants and test kitchens to large scale industrial water treatments plants providing him with perspective and experience that is unmatched in the smaller GC world. A native of Florida, David has called Colorado home for over 10 years. David was the Superintendent for the $40 million Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Tabernash, CO, and worked for clients such as Google, Microsoft, and Deloitte on several multi-million tenant finish projects that included office and commercial test kitchens and cafeterias. Since joining Parallel Construction in 2022, David has been assigned our most complex and high-profile jobs including the recently completed $8 million adaptive reuse project converting a historic movie reel manufacturing building into a state-of-the-art creative office and tech manufacturing hub. David’s commitment to safety, organization, and a clean job site shine through on each of his projects leading to successful and efficient outcomes. David holds a Class B General Contractors license in the State of Colorado and a BS in Building Construction from the M.E. Rinker School of Building Construction at the University of Florida. He currently lives in Arvada with his wife Sarah, and their two children, Scarlett and David.

Juan Gonzalez
Superintendent
Juan is a seasoned Construction Superintendent with extensive experience in managing both self-performing labor and subcontractor activities across a wide range of construction projects. With over 25 years in the industry, he has developed an understanding of all types of construction and trade disciplines. He has a can-do attitude willing to roll up his sleeves when needed. Jaun is a critical piece of Parallel’s team - coordinating and overseeing daily operations, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining quality control.
